2.6 Advertising

Seeing as we are a community of college students, you are welcome to send your school's server information and Discord to students from your school.

Large-scale advertising is prohibited. Advertising of other non-school servers is prohibited.

2.7 Advertising In-Game Trades

You're permitted to advertise trades in trade chat (/tch) up to once per minute.

2.8 Server Language

Our server's official language is English. General/global chat (/g) should be in English, but we welcome other languages in town chat (/tc), nation chat (/nc) or private messages (/msg [player]).

3. Gameplay Rules

3.1 Idling on the server

Players are not permitted to idle for longer than 15 minutes in the Towny server, but are permitted to idle indefinitely in the lobby, accessible via /lobby or /hub. Circumventing the autokick may result in disciplinary action.

3.2 Raiding Player Bases

Do not raid bases or towns, even if they're unclaimed.

3.3 Player-versus-player (PvP) Guidelines

Do not kill a player unprovoked. In the following instances, PvP is expressly permitted:

  • Both players agree to fight in general chat
  • A player is raiding a town's resources
  • A player is visiting a town, is given an order to leave in general chat, and fails to comply within 1 minute

3.4 Town and Nation Guidelines

  1. The town mayor has the final say in town-related affairs.
  2. The nation's leader has the final say in nation-related affairs.
  3. Town and nation names need to follow all server rules.
    1. To avoid being charged with impersonation, make sure your city's name is not overly similar to that of another.
    2. Do not claim to be another city.

3.5 Insiding

Insiding, or the act of joining a city to give another city or player an advantage, is prohibited. We also expressly prohibit members of a city from raiding the city and then leaving.

3.6 Exchange of in-game content or services for real-life money

Exchange of in-game content or services for real-life money, or vice versa, is prohibited.

3.7 Pixel/Map Art

Pixel and map art is permitted, given that it does not violate server rules.

4. Griefing

4.1 Griefing in or near claims

Griefing in or around claims is prohibited.

4.2 Griefing in the wild

Griefing in the wild is permitted but discouraged, and all players have the right to request a rollback of excessive griefing in the wild.

"Cobble monsters" are prohibited, even in the wild.

4.3 Claim Griefing

Claiming area near another town is prohibited, unless both mayors agree.

Shaping claims in order to block another town from expanding is prohibited.

Only mayors may report violations of this rule as we will assume both mayors agree if we don't hear otherwise.

5. Other Rules not Listed

We reserve the right to ban players for any reason, including rules not listed above. Immediately comply with orders from staff directed towards you that are in compliance with the above rules.
